Maureen Sweeney Celebrant
F.A.Q's
Q) Is my ceremony legal ?
A) Yes it is , I am a celebrant authorised by the Registrar General to officiate legal marriages in Scotland.
Q) How do I confirm the booking ?
A) The booking is confirmed and your date is secured with a small deposit. An invoice will also be emailed to you with all the details along with T&C’s.
Q) What happens once we book you?
A) After an initial informal chat via video call or meeting, if not before I will be in touch 4 months before the ceremony to get the ball rolling with the legal requirements and ceremony planning including all the options to make your ceremony exactly what you want it to be.
Q) Do you perform LGBTQ ceremonies?
A)Yes of course.
Q) What do you do on the day.
A) I normally arrive one hour before the ceremony time, just to ensure that everything is in place so that your ceremony runs smoothly.
I coordinate with the staff at the venue and any other suppliers involved in the ceremony eg, photographer, piper, videographer etc to make sure they know exactly what is happening and at what times.
I check that the music is in order and will be played at the correct times. I also have a quick run through with any guests that are doing a reading etc.
Then I deliver your ceremony in a relaxed and memorable way.
These are just the basics, there are lots of other things I do too behind the scenes!
Q) How do we contact you if we have any questions?
A) I am always available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have via whatsapp, email or telephone. “No question is ever a silly question” I want the whole process to be stress free for you. Get In Touch.
Q) How far do you travel?
A) Travel of 45 miles from Ayr is included in my fee, after which a charge of 50p per mile would be added.
Q) What happens if you are unwell on the day of the wedding?
A) If this rare situation should arise (it hasn’t as yet) I am a member of a small team of celebrants (Humanity is) and one of my wonderful colleagues would perform my duties on the day.
Q) Can I include a religious aspect in my ceremony?
A) As a humanist celebrant, it is a non religious ceremony.
